PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

By October 2024, 51 years has elapsed of professional experience in Paediatrics. This experience has been obtained by practice of Paediatrics in many teaching hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Amman - Jordan, United Kingdom and Belgium. This long period of experience has enabled me to be exposed to different medical schools and to learn how to manage many rare and complicated cases.

The detail of this period as follows:

1973 - 1976

Beginner Physician in Paediatric department, Abu Dhabi Grand Hospital, Abu Dhabi

1976 - 1979

General Practitioner in Paediatric department, Abu Dhabi, Grand Hospital, Abu Dhabi

1980 - 1982

Many Medical Courses were attended in different British Hospitals in Exeter, Edinburgh, Birmingham & Glasgow

1982 - 1983

Sharing many other professional colleagues in comparative studies between Modern Embryology, Anatomy and the Quran and Hadeeth. These studies were finally published in Professor Kethe L. Moore's Textbook (The Human Development, Clinical Oriented Embryology), Toronto University, Canada. These studies were sponsored by King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and delivered in the 8 th Saudi Medical Conference, Riyadh.

1983 - 1987

Resident in Paediatric Department, Jordan University Hospital. Attending the residency Program for M.Sc. degree in Paediatrics and to fulfill the requirements of the Arab Board in Paediatrics (CABP). It is well known that Jordan University Hospital is the 1st Teaching Hospital in the region. The Residency Program is so well organized, includes all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as: Lumbar puncture, Bone-Marrow aspirate, suprapubic puncture, paracentesis, pleural tap, laryngeal and tracheal suction under direct vision, fixing IV line, taking blood samples, blood exchange, good experience in handling premature and newborn babies in health and in disease, dealing with ventilators. The Residency Program included 3 nigh duties per week in the 1st year and 2 nights' duties in the 2nd and 3rd years. Many sub-specialties were available in the department such as Gastroenterology, Hematology, Oncology, Neonatology, Infectious diseases and Immunology. To obtain the master's degree, the candidate must pass the yearly examination and also in the final examination, the accumulative mark must be not less than 75%. Usually external examiners commence the examinations.

1989

Passed the 2nd Part exam of the ARAB BOARD (this degree is equal to MRCP or American Board), training in recognized teaching hospital, passing written, clinical and oral examination are preliminary requirements for the degree.

1995 - 1996

Registrar in Pediatric Gastroenterology Department (for 12 months), Birmingham Children Hospital, UK. During this period, I was trained to do upper and lower endoscopy. Taking liver biopsy under deep sedation & G.A. I also had a good time in the liver unit. Trained to perform Breath H2 test, prolonged ambulatory pH study and to give T.P.N.

1999 - 2005

Consultant ‘A' Pediatrician & Gastroenterologist, Al Jazeera hospital, Abu Dhabi. During this period, I was able to establish a Pediatric Gastroenterology Unit fully equipped with 3 upper endoscopies, one Pediatric Colonoscope, Breath H2 test machines and Digi trapper MK III for prolonged ambulatory pH study, needless special for liver biopsy. We encounter all types of G.I. and liver diseases including rare conditions such as intestinal lymphangiectasia, bleeding gastric ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, Haemobilia, Zellweger syndrome and retrieving ingested foreign bodies from oesophagus and stomach.

2002

In cooperation with The Belgium Cystic Fibroses Society, worked for 2 months at Gent University Hospital in Gent and St. Lock Hospital in Brussel in the field of Paediatric Gastroenterology and endoscopy.
